Summertime

It’s already been 6 weeks plus of summer and the time has flown by quite rapidly.  Started with a 2 week spin to the west coast for the videoconferencing project with Canada Parks (more about that in a future post).  Then off to New Brunswick to visit the cottage/family and friends for a few weeks.  Now back home, and planning a few other things to round out the summer.  But the horizon of the new school year looms in the not so distant future now, and I’m starting to find myself slipping into the dreaded ‘thinking-about-going-back-to-school’ mode.

You know the one, the one where your brain works overtime all day and night considering the things that you should be doing, or will plan on doing for this year.  You check your calendar and realize that you’ve planned a number of things for September and have no idea right now where to start to try and pull it all off.  That sort of mode.

Only thing to do is grab a coffee, and head outside to the deck to enjoy the sunshine.  Before long, the future will be the present and the halls of the school will be filled, and you’ll have to be there too.

Get outside, and ignore your brain for a little while.  Remind it that you’re still on vacation for a while longer.
